week1, 2, and 3

So of course I haven't been on here every day like I hoped, but hey I am still here and the program is still going on. The first 2 weeks were good. I love actually getting out, going walking and feeling like I am doing something good for my body. This last week I have also stated eating better, which has felt good. Nothing too drastic, but small steps, I am hoping will lead to bigger changes in the future.
I feel like I am on a 2 week diet rotation. I do something for 2 weeks, then somehow it fades out, so a few weeks later I try something new and the process is repeated. At least this time I am into my 3rd week already so that is a start. I think that because the program is only 3 days a week and it starts out so gradual is the reason I am still going strong. I am not sick of it yet and I feel like it is helping me to feel better! So today I am out the door again I will walk for 24 min and get a 6 min run in there wherever i want, then next week it will jump up to 9 min of running and continue until I am running for 30!! that will be an awesome day!!

Day 1 and 2

It is Tuesday and things are great so far. My walking/running plan is only 3 days a week so yesterday was my first day. I woke Chris up at 8:30 and headed out the door. The plan was just to walk for 30 min, nothing special. I had my phone with my music so the walking went great. For some reason thought my right foot, well big toe was hurting like I strained the muscle. I think I must have been walking weird in my shoes. Hopefully it will not happen again.
about halfway through my walk andrea called me to see if I wanted to go walking! Nice huh! so I finished my walk, got Hannah ready, the Starkey's and Hanson's came over and we went on another walk. I took this one slower so my foot wouldn't hurt, but it felt so good to walk around all morning. I was happy with my first day, not to mention Hannah and I went and walked around the mall later that afternoon! Today is a rest day which I am thankful for so that my toe can heal. I think my shoe was just to loose, so I am hoping to fix it for tomorrow!
I can't wait for next week when I can actually start running, but I know I need to take it slow so that I don't get burned out and I will stick with it!! Hooray for exercise and feeling good!

Starting over

Who knows if anyone is reading this, but here I go again! I am going to keep a journal, hopefully everyday on here about training for a 5 k. I know it is a small race especially since I have already done a triathlon, but I need to start fresh and I hope that if I think on a smaller scale it will help me stick to it and keep going or longer.
I found a 16 week "couch to 5k" program that seems do-able that I am going to follow. My goal is to be able to run a full 5k without walking, have around 10 min miles and feel great. The race I am going to do is the Turkey Stuffer in November. The only way my plans may change a bit is if I get pregnant, which of course I would love! So here we go!!!
